Hill Spring International School’s Grade V PYP Exhibition 2026

At Hill Spring International School, the Grade V PYP Exhibition 2026 stood as a remarkable culmination of the students’ journey through the Primary Years Programme (PYP). More than just a presentation, the Exhibition was a meaningful reflection of student agency, creativity, collaboration, and inquiry-driven learning.
As one of the most significant milestones in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, the PYP Exhibition empowers students to take ownership of their learning while exploring real-world issues through transdisciplinary perspectives. This year, Hill Spring’s young learners demonstrated exceptional curiosity, confidence, and innovation as they transformed their passions into impactful inquiry projects.
Students Led Their Own Inquiry Journey, the Exhibition began with students identifying topics they genuinely connected with. Through engaging exercises such as word splashes, discussions around likes and dislikes, and the Four Pillars of Inquiry, learners explored their personal interests before narrowing down subjects they wished to investigate further.

The Grade V PYP Exhibition 2026 witnessed students explore a wide range of unique and thought-provoking passion project topics including Women’s Rights and the Pink Tax, Ecotourism and International Travel, AI in F1 Racing, Robotics in Taekwondo and Karate, Phobias, Sketching and Math, Marine Sciences, Photography, Animal Rights, Product Design, Marketing and Advertising, Satellites, Music and Well-being, Architecture, and many more
From music, tourism, robotics, and marketing to martial arts, design, technology, and environmental awareness, the diversity of topics showcased the individuality, creativity, and unique perspectives of every learner. Students were encouraged to pursue subjects that resonated with their interests while connecting them to larger global conversations and real-world applications.
Guided by key IB PYP transdisciplinary themes such as:
- Who We Are
- How We Express Ourselves
- How the World Works
Students investigated concepts that helped them better understand themselves, society, and the world around them. These themes provided a strong conceptual framework that made learning relevant, purposeful, and deeply connected to authentic experiences.
Developing Research, Critical Thinking, and Collaboration Skills
As students progressed through their Exhibition journey, they worked towards building conceptual understanding by framing central ideas and lines of inquiry that directed their research and inquiry process.
To deepen their understanding, learners designed meaningful learning engagements that included:
- Reading books, articles, and case studies
- Conducting interviews
- Organising field visits
- Planning assessments
Collaborating with peers across disciplines, whether exploring the science behind satellites and marine ecosystems, analysing the social impact of women’s rights and advertising, or understanding the relationship between music and emotional well-being, students demonstrated an impressive ability to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and make interdisciplinary connections.

One of the highlights of the PYP Exhibition at Hill Spring International School was the way students found common ground between seemingly unrelated subjects such as Robotics in Taekwondo, AI in Formula 1 racing, and Sketching through Mathematics reflecting the true essence of inquiry-based learning.
Teachers, mentors, and parents played a supportive role throughout the process by facilitating inquiry, encouraging reflection, and ensuring that students remained at the centre of the learning experience.
A Dynamic Showcase of Creativity and Expression
The Exhibition culminated in a vibrant showcase where students presented their Passion Projects through:
- Interactive games and apps
- Models and prototypes
- Charts and visual displays
Multimedia presentations
Beyond individual projects, collaborative groups creatively expressed their understanding of PYP themes through:
- Music and dance performances
- Panel discussions
- Oral news reports
- Dramatisations
The event brought the entire Exhibition to life, highlighting students’ confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and ability to express ideas through multiple forms of creativity and expression.
